按我学到的英语知识,upstair 是形容词,而 upstairs 是副词。但我经常遇到像 an upstairs bedroom 这样的用法。我无法解释。

原先，upstair用作形容词，而upstairs用作副词。现在还有人坚持这种用法（an upstairs bedroom）。但是，一般说来，人们已经不再使用upstair这个词了。所以ALD、LDCE均没有列入这个词。upstairs现在既用作副词，又用作形容词：
