feed on 是指“动物以……为食”，live on 是指“人以……为食”或“靠……生活”。但是 live on 也可以指“动物以……为食”。

1. The... whale does not feed on small fish... 这种……鲸鱼并不以小鱼为食……

2. Cows feed on grass. 牛以草为食。

3. Cows live on grass. 牛以草为食。

4. He lives on fish and potatoes. 他以鱼和土豆为主食。
