wound/injure

动词 wound 是指有意的伤害,尤指用武器造成的皮肤上的伤害,而 injure 则主要是指意外事故造成的伤害。

1. The shot wounded his arm. 子弹打伤了他的手臂。

2. Ten soldiers were killed and thirty seriously wounded. 有十名士兵阵亡，三十名重伤。

3. The driver of the car was badly injured in the accident. 汽车司机在事故中受了重伤。

4. No one was injured in the fire ... 在火灾中无一人受伤……

5. He sat in the darkness and listened to the people around him. One man had a head wound and was in pain. 他坐在黑暗处，听着周围的人在讲话。有一个人头部受了伤，非常痛苦。

[附注] injure 还可用于比喻义, 如伤害健康、名誉、感情等:

1. He claimed that working too hard was injuring his health. 他声称工作过度损害了他的健康。

2. I hope I didn't injure her(feelings). 我希望我没有伤害她(的感情)。
