This book reminds me of a play I saw two years ago. (IME) 这本书使我回想起了我两年前看过的一部戏。
这就是说, remind of 永远表示“使回忆起过去的事物”, 而不能表示“提醒注意未来的事物”或“提醒去做应做的事”。是这样吗?
英语的实际使用情况并非如此简单。有时候 remind of 亦可用来表示“提醒注意未来的事物”或“提醒去做应做的事”。

但是,考生应当特别注意,许多语言学者仍然认为 remind sb. of doing sth. 是错误的,应改为 remind sb. to do sth. 例如《朗文英语正误词典》就持有这样的观点:
“×I wish you had reminded me of phoning her.
√ I wish you had reminded me to phone her.
你当时要是提醒我给她打电话就好了。
(说明) remind someone to do something = tell someone that there is something he or she ought to do. (提醒某人该做某事)。”
