desire 和 hope 用作动词和名词时都作“希望”解,有无区别呢?

从语义上说, desire 表示“热切的希望”“强烈的愿望”, 语气比较强。从语体上说, desire 主要用于正式语体, 在口语中较少使用。hope 主要用于可能实现的事情, 既可用于正式语体, 又可用于非正式语体。从语法上说, 及物动词 desire 可接名词、动词不定式、从句或宾语 + to-v 复合结构, 而及物动词 hope 不能接名词或复合结构, 只能接动词不定式和从句(参见 hope/wish):
