on account of/because of

复合介词 on account of 与复合介词 because of 在语义上是相同的(因为……)，但在语体上是不同的:前者只用于正式语体。例如：

1. On account of the high temperature, special alloys are used. 由于温度高,要使用特殊合金。

2. She stayed indoors on account of the bad weather. (Chambers) 由于天气不好, 她呆在家里。
