question/problem

If he had come yesterday evening, the question might have been solved.

If he had come yesterday evening, the problem might have been solved. If he had come yesterday evening, the difficult question about the subtle differences betweendisappointed in’ anddisappointed at’ anddisappointed with’ might have been answered.

  1. How are we going to solve the questions put forward?

  2. I think I've managed to solve the question of what to buy my mother for her birthday. (Chambers Universal Learners Dictionary, p. 707)

  3. properly solve a question(《新英和活用大辞典》, p. 1024) 用适当方法解决问题

  4. to treat [to solve] a question (New English-Russian Dictionary, p. 286)
