当 just 作“刚才”“刚刚”(very recently)或“就在那时”(at this (that) precise moment) 解时,动词一般要用完成体或进行体,而且总是占句中位置(即实义动词之前,助动词或连系动词之后),因此应排除选择 B 和 D 的可能性:

1. I've just seen Professor Grant. (Gronin) 我刚刚见到格兰特教授。

2. When I saw her, she had just come back. (CGEL) 当我见到她时，她刚回来。

3. I have just received a letter from my brother, Tim. 我刚刚收到我兄弟蒂姆的一封信。

4. Mr James Scott has a garage in Silbury and now he has just bought another garage in Pinhurst. Pinhurst is only five miles from Silbury, but Mr Scott cannot get a telephone for his new garage, so he has just bought twelve pigeons. 在非正式的美国英语中, just 可以与过去时连用, 但仍居句中位置(因此, 应排除选择 A 的可能性):
