taste 能否用进行时?

不应笼统地说 taste 不能用于进行时。应当分两种情况来谈(参见 smell $^{2}$ , feel $^{4,10}$ )。

A. taste 用作连系动词时,通常不能用于进行时:

1. This milk tastes sour. 这牛奶有酸味。

2. Honey tastes sweet. 蜂蜜是甜的。

B. taste 作“品尝(eat or drink a little of something)”解时,可以用在进行时中:

1. “What are you doing?” “I’m tasting the wine, to see how sweet it is.” (CGEL) “你在干什么?”“我在尝酒，看它有多甜。”

2. She was tasting the pudding to see if it was sweet enough. (PEG) 她在品尝布丁, 看它甜味够不够。
