A is to B what X is to
What the leaves are to the forest,/That to the world are children.
Air is to us what water is to fish.
-
Reading is to mind what food is to the body.
-
Color, line, mass, space and texture are to a painter what words are to an author. (TOEFL)
-
What the blueprint is to the builder the outline is to the writer.
-
What Newton was to mechanics and Darwin to biology, Freud was to psychology.
-
An individual is to a country what a screw is to a machine.
What the leaves are to the forest,/That to the world are children.
