我认为该书 date back 的用法是错误的。ALD 上只有 date back to/date from，《英华大词典》(p. 340) 也只有 date back to/date from，而无 date back 的用法。故本人认为上句中的 dated back 应改为 dated back to，并在 15,000 years 之后加上副词 ago。您认为呢？
不能认为凡在某些权威词书中没有找到的用法便是错误的。实际上，date back to/date from 和 date back 的用法都是正确的，只是搭配关系有所不同。date back to/date from 后接一个过去的具体时间(have existed since a particular time in the past)，而 date back 后接一个时间长度(have existed for the length of time mentioned)，可以译为“已存在”“追溯到……以前”。请对比：
