wisely (rightly, frankly, stupidly)

在句(A)中 stupidly 可以看作是方式状语,它是修饰动词的。句子的意义为“这个问题他回答得很愚蠢”。在句(B)中 stupidly 是修饰整个句子的副词(sentence-adverb),用以表达说话人对句子内容的看法或态度(见 delightfully)。其意义为“他回答了这个问题,这样做是很愚蠢的(It was stupid of him to answer it.)。”这种修饰句子的副词,数量并不少,如 rightly, wisely, foolishly。这些副词在多数情况下都放在句首:
