(《高中标准化测试》, 第1册, p.79) 标准答案为 C(except)。我认为 D(except for) 也是对的。但我的教师说, 根据 New Concept English 的编者 L.G. Alexander 的说法, 当 except 用于句首时才可以用 except for 来代替。
根据我们手头的资料,意义和用法与 except 相同的 except for 放在句首的情况比较常见,但放在句末的情况也不是绝无仅有。例如:
