许多英语词典都说 event 与 incident 的区别在于前者指“重要的事件”，而后者指“较小的事件”（见《英汉多功能词典》，p.761）。
不知用这种观点如何解释下列句子？

event 与 incident 有一个重要的区别: 后者是指“不好的事或异乎寻常的事”（an event which is either unpleasant or unusual），而前者却可指任何事件，尤其指重要的事件（anything that happens, esp. something important or unusual）。此外，incident 除表示“较小的事件”之外，还可指敌对行动、军事冲突、暴力行动等等（参见 accident ）。
