I live in the suburbs. (LASDE)
While I was waiting to enter university, I saw advertised in a local newspaper a teaching post at a school in a suburb of London about ten miles from where I lived.
-
I do not live in London. I live in the suburbs. (JED)
-
People who work in the town or city often live in the suburbs. (EED)
-
in a London suburb 在伦敦郊外(NAECD)
-
A suburb of a town or city is an area of it which is not close to the centre. (EED)
They entered a quiet suburb situated beneath a wooden hill. (Cronin)
“Does Ron’s brother live near the downtown area?” “No, he lives ____.”
A. out in the suburbs B. in the out suburbs C. out in suburbs D. in suburbs(TOEFL)
