don't let's/let's don't/let's not

我们在 a friend of my brother's/a friend of my brother 条中已经用实例证明了这两种表达方式都是正确的。但是上句中的 a friend of Mary 却是错误的。为什么呢？骤然看来，用所有格作定语 $\$left(\mathrm{N}_{2}^{\prime}\mathrm{S}+\mathrm{N}_{1}\right) ，似乎可以任意转换为用 of 短语作定语 $\$left(\mathrm{N}_{1}+\mathrm{of}\mathrm{N}_{2}\right) 。例如，the city's population→the population of the city, China's economy→the economy of China。但事实上，并非所有的所有格定语都可以转化为 of 短语作定语，而是有许多限制的。比如说，当 ${\mathrm{<span\; class="latin-run">N</span>}}_2$N_{2} 是人名时，有时就不能使用 ${\mathrm{<span\; class="latin-run">N</span>}}_1+\mathrm{<span\; class="latin-run">o</span>}\mathrm{<span\; class="latin-run">f</span>}{\mathrm{<span\; class="latin-run">N</span>}}_2$N_{1}+ofN_{2} 结构：
