《英语结构难题解析》(复旦大学出版社,1995年,p.334)在解释上面的试题为什么只能选before而不能选until时说:“before作为连接词,表示时间上‘前于’,until则强调‘以后的情况与前相反’。before只能用于肯定式,不能用于否定式。”这种说法对吗?
从时间概念上来考虑, before 和 until 都是表示时间上“先于”。R. Quirk 等在 A Comprehensive Grammar of the English Language 中说: “until 和 before 都表示主句的情景发生在从句的情景之前……”。
