'd rather

'd rather = would rather 或 had rather。would rather 和 had rather 一般地说并没有什么区别，都表示“宁愿，宁可，与其……不如”的意思，但 would rather 比 had rather 用得普遍一些。

1. I'd rather rent the cottage. 我宁愿租下这乡间别墅。

2. I'd rather not say anything. 我宁愿什么也不说。

3. I'd rather take the slowest train than go there by air. 我宁愿坐最慢的火车，也不乘飞机去那儿。

4. He'd rather be out playing golf. 他宁可出去打高尔夫球。
