根据 Hornby 的解释,如果重复从句中的动词,就能使从句的意义得到强调;如果省略从句中的动词,就能使主句的意义得到强调。He is as strong as a horse. 是强调他的力气,而不是强调马的力气。类似的例子:

  2. She is as deaf as a post. 她完全聋了。
