have (got) to/must ¹

  1. I must do what you tell me.

  2. You must come and visit me. (Collins)

  3. You must be back by ten o'clock. (“You are obliged to be back...”; “I require you to be back...”)

  4. I have (got) to go now.

  5. We have (got) to send these VAT forms back before the end of the month. (LEG)

  6. I've got to do something! Langdon thought. (Dan Brown, The Da Vinci Code)

(参见 must/have to)
