book, reserve 和 order 虽然都表示“预订”这一基本含义,但是,在搭配上是有些区别的。说到“订票”“订出租车”“订房间”,上面三个词都是可以使用的:

1. My mate ordered the tickets last week. 我的伙伴上周订好了票。

2. I asked the security guard to order me a taxi. 我叫保安员给我预订了出租车。

3. reserve tickets 订票

说到订旅馆、桌位、座位,则常用 book 和 reserve:

1. book a hotel room, a seat on a plane 预订旅馆房间、飞机座位

2. book a table in a restaurant 预订餐馆的桌位

3. The tourists couldn't book a hotel room because there were no vacancies. 旅游者们未能订上旅馆房间,因为没有空房间了。

4. I want to reserve a table for four people. 我要订四人的餐桌。

当表示“订(点)菜”“定购”时,通常使用 order。

1. Anne ordered a large pizza. 安妮订了一个大比萨饼(意大利饼)。

2. I've ordered a beer for you. 我为你要了一份啤酒。
