虽然中译文将 the painter's eye 译作“画家的眼里”，但是英文原文中的 eye 并不是指作为身体器官的眼睛，而是指“眼光”、“鉴赏力”（the power of seeing）。在下面的例句里，eye 之所以用单数，就是因为它并不是指作为身体器官的眼睛。
