I like singing.
-
I object to your smoking cigars.
-
Do you mind my asking what happened to your parents? (Dan Brown, The Da Vinci Code)
He liked our singing folk songs.
-
I dislike him driving my car. (CGEL)
-
We looked forward to you becoming our neighbour. (CGEL)
-
Fancy you having noticed! (LEG)
-
I'll never forget you falling into the river. (EGS)
I dislike you/your climbing the fence.
-
Your driving a car to New York took longer than I expected.
-
My forgetting her name was embarrassing.
-
Your falling into the river was the climax of the whole trip.
-
It's a waste of time your talking to him. (Ball)
-
But it is very risky your going off in such a hurry. (Voynich)
Excuse my being late. (BBC)
You falling into the river was the climax of the whole trip.
