n times more than ²

把 A is n times more (larger) than B 解释为 A 比 B 大 n 倍, 而把 A is n times as much as B 解释为 A 是 B 的 n 倍, 这是中国人学英语、教英语的一个误区。实际上, 这两个结构是相同的: 都表示 A 是 B 的 n 倍, 即 $\mathrm{<span\; class="latin-run">A</span>}=\mathrm{<span\; class="latin-run">n</span>}\times \mathrm{<span\; class="latin-run">B</span>}$A = n \times B (参见上条, as much as)。读者读到这里可能会反对我们的说法。且慢, 让我们用实例来证明我们的观点:
