《高考英语215》(清华大学出版社，p.565)对any longer与any more作了如下的区分：“not any more(=no more)和not any longer(=no longer)译成汉语都可说“不再”。但二者本意不同，前者(no more, not any more)指的是数量和程度上；后者(no longer, not any longer)指的是时间上。”
not...any more 真的只能指“数量和程度上”，而不能指“时间上”吗？
上面的说法是我国英语教学上颇为流行的说法,但不符合实际。实际上,not...any longer与not...any more可以表达相同的意思:(时间上的)“不再”。any longer与any more一样都位于句末。
