葛传槊《英语惯用法词典》(时代出版社，p.711)认为It is worth discussing the question again. 是错误的，因为discussing是实际主语，it是形式主语，worth后面没有宾语，所以不对。而必须改作The question is worth discussing again。但是，我在英语教科书中却不止一次地读到过上面的被判为错误的用法。
现代语法学家和词典编纂者大都承认 It is worth doing 的用法是正确的。例如：
