remind... of/remind... to do

remind sb. of sth. 主要是指“使某人回忆起过去的事情”：

1. It reminds me of what a woman once said of him. (Wells) 它使我回忆起一个女人曾经说到过他的话。

2. That story you have just told reminds me of an experience I once had. (Wood) 你刚刚讲的那个故事使我想起了我曾经有过的一段经历。

3. Harry was reminded of Uncle Vernon pacing the living room a million years ago. (J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) 这让哈利想起了弗农姨夫很久以前在起居室里来回踱步的样子。(《哈利·波特与死亡圣徒》)

但是,有时也可以指“提醒某人注意未来的事件”(见 remind of)。

remind sb. to do sth. 是指“提醒某人去做某事”或“使某人想起去做某事”：

1. Remind me to take my medicine tomorrow. (JED) 提醒我明天吃药。

2. Mrs. Bell reminded her son to go to the store after school. (IME) 贝尔太太提醒她的儿子在放学后去商店。

3. The sight of clock reminded me to leave at once. (LDCE) 一看到钟我才想起来我得马上走了。

使用 remind sb. that 句型也可以表示“提醒某人去做某事”或“使某人想起去做某事”：
