with whom/whom... with?

上面的两种用法都是正确的。但是在语用上是有区别的。句型(A)是正式用法，而且很罕见。句型(B)中的whom常常用作who，尤其是在口语中。请对比：

1 $\$int (\mathrm{A}) To whom did you give it?

1. { (B) Whom did you give it to? (GPU)

2. $\$left\{ \begin{array}{l} (\mathrm{A}) \text { To whom did the detective show his badge? } \\ (\mathrm{B}) \text { Who did the detective show his badre to? } \end{array} \right. 那个侦探给谁看了他的奖章？

3. { (B) Who did the detective show his badge to? }

当 who 用作连接代词时, 情况亦是如此, 但是介词 + 连接代词不像位于句首的介词 + 疑问代词那样罕见:

1 $\$int (A) I don't know to whom to give it.

1. { (B) I don't know who to give it to. (Palmer)

2. $\$int(A) I wonder to whom he's talking.

3. { (B) I wonder who he's talking to. (LDCE)
