concept 与 conception 的区别, 见 concept/conception。notion 和 concept 一样, 也可用于表示普遍的、被广泛接受的概念, 例如:

The notion that the world was round had been conceived centuries before.

关于地球是圆的概念，在许多世纪以前就被接受了。

但是, notion 常常在 idea 的基本含义上附加模糊不清、无理论根据、不切实际、瞬时间产生等含义:

1. His head was full of strange notions. (MED) 他的脑海充满了奇怪的想法。

2. I never knew anyone with such odd notions. (FWF) 我从未认识任何人具有这样的奇思妙想。
