a boy of a girl 到底是指“一个女孩气的男孩”，还是指“一个男孩气的女孩(假小子)”？
一般的 of 短语都是用来修饰或限制前面的名词或名词短语的。但是，在 a boy of a girl 和 an angel of a wife [限定词 + 名词(1) + of + a(an) + 名词(2)] 这种结构里，of 短语与前面的名词或名词短语构成同位关系，而且名词(2)是概念的中心，of 短语之前的成分是对名词(2)进行修饰的，它就好像是个形容词一样：
an angel of a wife = an angelic wife 仙女般的妻子
the fool of a policeman = the foolish policeman(CGEL) 这个蠢蛋警察
所以，a boy of a girl 是指“一个男孩气的女孩”，而不是指“一个女孩气的男孩”；a palace of a house 是指“宫殿般的房子”，而不是指“房子的一个宫殿”。类例：

这种结构的特点是:名词(2)之前必须使用不定冠词,如以上各例,而名词(1)之前可以用任何限定词(a, the, this, that, her, your 等):
